A facial steam is a great way to relax while you open and unclog your pores. Five minutes once a week is all you need to soften and revive dull skin and give yourself a healthy glow. If you’re looking to take a moment to unplug, sit still and be present in the moment then I highly recommend this treatment.
First thing’s first. Start with a clean face, give it a little cleanse before you begin. Bring about 6 cups of water to a boil and place into a large bowl. For a complete therapeutic experience, you can add a few drops of your favourite essential oils to the water or even add some great-smelling herbal tea if you’re in a pinch. You’ll also need a large towel to create yourself a little tent. Place your face over the bowl of your hot water mixture (about 18 inches away) and cover your head with the towel letting the steam and vapours penetrate your skin for 5-10 minutes. Pat your face dry with a clean towel. Post steaming is the perfect time to apply any serums, moisturizers or even face masks as your open pores will be more receptive to any follow up treatments.
